Nylabone Dura Chew Plus Dog Toy – Durable Textured Chew for Busy Dogs

Some dogs just need something to chew, and it's better that it's this than your skirting boards. The Nylabone Dura Chew Plus is a tough nylon bone covered in nubs and ridges, with flavour right through it, so your dog has a proper job to get stuck into.

The Dura Chew Plus is a classic bone-shaped dog chew toy from Nylabone's Power Chew range, made from durable nylon for strong, persistent and aggressive chewers. What makes it a "Plus" is its unique texture: the whole bone is covered in raised nubs and ridges. As your dog chews, that texture helps clean teeth and freshen breath, and can help with reducing plaque and tartar. It's an easy way to promote dental health and a handy part of your dog's everyday dental care, alongside brushing and regular vet checks.

The bone has an irresistible flavour throughout, baked right into the nylon rather than coated on the outside, so it keeps your dog interested for longer chew sessions. The knuckled ends are easy for your dog to hold between their paws while they work away at it.

It's a good fit for busy dogs who are prone to boredom, dogs who chew when they're unsettled, and any dog who needs a safe outlet for a strong chewing urge. A proper chew helps fight boredom, redirects destructive chewing away from your furniture and shoes, and encourages healthy chewing habits. Nylabone makes it in the USA and describes the range as veterinarian-recommended.

Choose your size

• Small (Regular) | For dogs upto 11kgs

• Medium (Woof) | For dogs  upto 16kgs
• Large (Souper) | For dogs 23kgs+

If your dog sits between 16kg and 23kg, or is a very strong chewer, go for the Large. A chew that's too small for your dog can be swallowed.

FAQs

What size Nylabone Dura Chew Plus should I get? Small (Regular) suits dogs up to 11kg, Medium (Wolf) is for dogs up to 16kg, and Large (Souper) is for dogs over 23kg. If your dog is between 16kg and 23kg or chews very hard, choose the Large.

What flavour is the Dura Chew Plus? Chicken. The flavour goes right through the nylon, so it lasts as your dog chews rather than wearing off the surface.

Is the Dura Chew Plus the same as the Nylabone Power Chew Textured Bone? Yes. Nylabone now sells this textured bone as the Power Chew Textured Bone in some markets. It's the same tough, nubbed nylon bone.

Is the Dura Chew Plus edible? No. It's a chew toy, not a treat. Dogs shouldn't swallow any pieces. Small, grain-sized bristles lifting on the surface are normal wear and part of how the texture works.

Is it suitable for puppies? It's made for dogs with a full set of adult teeth. For teething puppies, Nylabone's softer Puppy Chew range is a better choice.

Does the Dura Chew Plus help clean my dog's teeth? The nubs and ridges help clean teeth and can help control plaque and tartar while your dog chews. It's a useful extra, but it doesn't replace brushing or vet dental checks.

Care and safety

Always supervise your dog while they chew. Check the bone before each use and replace it when the knuckles are worn down, it's small enough to swallow, or pieces are breaking off. Don't let your dog swallow any pieces; if they do, contact your vet. Hand wash in warm, soapy water and rinse well.
