The Goughnuts Ring Original – Heavy Duty is made in the USA from natural rubber with engineered carbon reinforcement. It's designed for very aggressive chewers: Staffies, Bull Terriers, Pit Bull types, Malinois, Rottweilers and any dog that treats a chew toy as a demolition job.

Other Goughnuts rings have a red safety core. This one doesn't. The Heavy Duty is solid black rubber all the way through, because a softer core would weaken it. That makes it the most durable ring in the range, but it also means there's no colour cue for when to replace it. You'll need to keep an eye on it yourself, which is why Goughnuts recommends it for experienced dog owners.

It comes in three sizes, and the durability score goes up with each one:

• Medium (Heavy Duty): 130mm across, 45mm thick, for dogs approx. 13–31kg. Durability score 90.
• Large (MaXX): 160mm across, 55mm thick, for dogs approx. 27–45kg. Durability score 97.
• XL (Buster): 160mm across, 60mm thick, for dogs approx. 45kg and over. Durability score 99.

It isn't only for chewing. The ring bounces, rolls and floats, so it's good for fetch at the park, tug in the backyard or a swim at the river. If it's covered in mud or sand, rinse it off in warm water.
