Q: Is 1.2m the right length for a dog lead?

Yes — 1.2m (about 4ft) is the standard walking lead length recommended by most NZ trainers. It gives your dog room to walk naturally without letting them get too far ahead near roads or other dogs.

Q: Will the colour fade in NZ sun?

No. BioThane® colour is bonded into the material, not painted on top. It won't crack, peel, or fade from UV or saltwater — which is more than most leather leads can promise after a Bay of Plenty summer.

Q: How long will a BioThane® lead last?

With normal use, years. There are owners on their original Whinny and Co leads after five-plus seasons of daily walking. The hardware is the part that eventually shows wear — the BioThane® itself rarely needs replacing.
