It's thick, heavy duty black rubber with two big rings: one for you, one for your dog. Grab hold and hang on. 💪

The Goughnuts Tug MaXX Heavy Duty in black is the brand's biggest, toughest tug toy, made in the USA from natural rubber. It's built for large, strong dogs who love a proper game of tug: think Staffies, Bull Terriers, Malinois, German Shepherds, Rottweilers and Mastiff types.

The figure-8 double-ring shape is what makes it work. Your dog grips one ring while you hold the other, so there's solid rubber between your hand and their teeth instead of a short, slobbery rope end. At roughly 28cm long and around 800g, it's a substantial toy with real weight behind it. It won't fold or flop about when things get enthusiastic.

Tug is one of the best ways to burn energy and build your bond, and it's a favourite reward in obedience, bitework and sports training. A good tug toy lets you work on "take it" and "out" while your dog gets to use all that natural drive.

Important: this is a tug toy, not a chew toy. Goughnuts designs its tugs for interactive play and doesn't recommend them for chewing or unsupervised play. Unlike Goughnuts rings, the Tug doesn't have a red safety-indicator core. When the game is over, put it away. If your dog is a dedicated chewer, pair it with the Goughnuts Ring Original – Heavy Duty for chew time.

Why owners like it: it outlasts rope and fabric tugs by a long way, and your hands stay well clear of teeth.
Why dogs like it: it's big, springy and satisfying to grip, and it means game time with you.

Key benefits

Heavy duty black rubber, the toughest in the Goughnuts range

Figure-8 double-ring design: one ring for you, one for your dog

Large size suits big, strong dogs who tug hard

Approx. 28cm long, around 800g

Great for training rewards, drive-building and backyard play

Rinses clean in warm water

Made in the USA

FAQs

What size dog is the Goughnuts Tug MaXX for?
It's made for large, strong dogs.
