BioThane® 1.5m Walking Lead — Wine & Dark Green | Field Classic
Old-school field colours, modern materials. Wine and Dark Green — proper countryside energy.
Wine and Dark Green is the colour palette of a Land Rover Defender, a Barbour jacket, a sodden Tongariro Crossing. It's the combination people who actually spend time outdoors keep coming back to — rich, grounded, and brilliant against tan, chocolate, and red coats.
Underneath the heritage looks, it's pure modern engineering. 1.5m of 16mm BioThane® — the same waterproof, wipe-clean material used on horse tack in showjumping yards. No oiling, no conditioning, no babying. Drop it in a puddle, wipe it off, hang it up.
Pick your hardware finish to finish the lead: Brass for traditional warmth, Gun Metal for understated cool, Black for stealth.
FAQs
Q: Will this look right with my dog's harness?
Excellent on tan canvas, brown leather, or dark green field-style harnesses. The Wine pulls warmth from rich coats, the Dark Green grounds the look. Particularly stunning on chocolate Labs, ruby spaniels, vizslas, and tan-and-white dogs.
Q: Is 1.5m a useful walking length?
Yes — and increasingly preferred by NZ trainers over the older 1.2m standard. The extra 30cm gives your dog more natural movement without losing close control near roads or other dogs.
Q: How does BioThane® compare to leather for a walking lead?
BioThane® gives you the look and feel of leather — same supple weight, same patina — but it shrugs off rain, mud, salt water, and slobber. Leather walking leads age beautifully if you maintain them. BioThane® stays beautiful with zero maintenance.
